“The true repairman will repair man.”

Laybourne declares Troy the prophesied repairman who can fix air conditioners and the people who fix them. Troy counters this inflated institutional mythology with the reality of a two-year trade degree. Later Troy rescues a rival in a heated sun-chamber duel; that is later fulfillment, not the action while this sentence is spoken. An ordinary vent sends enormous cream and blue bands toward oversized black words. The stems of man join the airflow, while a small red toolbox, wrench and screwdriver keep the practical trade visible beneath the grand proclamation.
